Kimberly Alidio is a poet, historian, and teacher living in Austin, TX. She is the author of Solitude Being Alien (Dancing Girl Press). Her poems appear in Equinox Tinysides (Fact-Simile Editions), Drunken Boat, Spiral Orb, Horse Less Press Review, ESQUE, Bone Bouquet, Lantern Review, and Make/shift. Her scholarly essays and criticism are published in Social History, American Quarterly, Journal of American History, and Social Text. She is a VONA/Voices of our Nation Fellow and a Kundiman Fellow and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Awards include the Center for Art and Thought Artist-in-Residency, the Naropa University Summer Writing Program Zora Neale Hurston Scholarship, the University of Illinois Asian American Studies Program Postdoctoral Fellowship , and the National Academy of Education/ Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Solitude Being Alien enacts dream re-enactments of archives, queer desire, colonialism, and girlhood. It revels in found and revived language, and the joys of unproductive searching.

The chapbook will be available for purchase and a book signing will follow the event.
